Last September our area churches packed 1000 boxes to share the gospel with children around the world. This year, we hope to fill 1200 Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes as a community!

On September 9th,  we will Go Together during  our annual packing party  at Covenant Community Church 
191 Harold Pritchett Road Ellijay, GA.

Volunteers have been working all year long to create gifts for these boxes but there is still an opportunity to help create some special moments for the children who will receive them by donating additional items to be packed.  

Practical Needs:  
1200 drawstring backpacks
1200 toothbrushes
1200  washcloths

Some Special “Wow” items:  
Shoes that Grow
Soccer Balls
Stuffed Animals  

If anyone has a specific item for the boxes that they make or have access to we welcome those items too! These items will make the boxes unique!

 It costs approximately $10 per box to ship our shoeboxes around the world, so our financial goal this year is to raise at least $12,000 to cover shipping.

  If you would like to support the delivery of the boxes, there are two ways to contribute:
1. You can donate directly to the  fundraising page set up by  Samaritan’s Purse  for “Go Together” at https://fundraise.samaritanspurse.org/fundraiser/4745560

2. You can write a  check to Samaritan’s Purse and place it in the green OCC collection box at the event on September 9th.  We will send in all the checks together after the packing party.  This is the best way to make large donations in order to avoid any processing fees with online payments.    

 Packing 1200 boxes seems like a big job but with a community working together, it can be done in an afternoon!
